Our Marine GIS program is helping conserve the critically endangered North Atlantic right whale, track rehabilitated and released marine animals and train the next generation of ocean stewards.
We have successfully spearheaded two separate campaigns to relocate commercial shipping vessels in an effort to reduce the risk of accidental collision between right whales and large boats and vessels.
We use satellite tags to track our rescued and rehabilitated animals once they have been returned to the wild. This information helps prove that our rehabilitated sea turtles, seals, dolphins and porpoises thrive when they are returned to their natural environment.
We encourage budding scientists by integrating GIS and GPS technology into our summer camp programs.
