This video shows an example of grooming. Ursula, one of our female northern fur seals, is showing off her ability to keep her fur coat in great shape. Maintaining your fur takes a lot of effort when you have 300,000 hairs per square inch!

Check this out... the average human head has 600,000 hairs on the entire scalp.
These fur seals have 300,000 hairs PER SQUARE INCH.
Now that, my friends, is a lot of hair.

Do the trainers comb them or anything?
Thankfully, the fur seals take care of their own hair. I can't imagine being the stylist for 300,000 hairs per square inch!
