Family Programs

The Aquarium offers a variety of fun and educational programs for families to enjoy together. Family programs include classes and activities for children ages 1 to 12 years old, and birthday parties at your home for children ages 3 to 10 years old.

Blue Discoveries Family Day

Learn more about the blue planet through art, science and storytelling. Programs highlight Aquarium favorites as well as Aquarium hidden treasures. Free with admission!

Daily Activities at the Aquarium

Join us every day in the exhibit space across from the Tropical Ocean Exhibit for hands-on educational programs. These activites are lead by Aquarium educators and included free with admission. Check the schedule.

Sea Squirts and Sea Squirts Preview

Our family of Sea Squirts classes are perfect for children ages 1 to 4 years old and their caregivers to explore the aquatic world! Sea Squirts classes are held monthly during the school year for children ages 2 to 4 years old. Sea Squirts Preview classes are held three times a year for children 12 to 24 months old.

Homeschool Offerings

Homeschool families can book custom programs as a group on topics that range from animals, habitats, conservation or global oceans. Download this informational PDF for details (313 KB).

Birthday Parties

Throw a birthday party at the Aquarium or at your home with fun educational programming. Birthday parties can be held at the Aquarium, in the Simons IMAX Theatre or in your own home.

Summer Camp

Kids in grades 4 - 9 can spend their summer with the Aquarium! Harbor Discoveries Camp includes behind–the-scenes activities in Aquarium galleries, excursions to Boston Harbor Islands, daily field trips to North and South Shore habitats, and an overnight experience.
