The Aquarium offers a wealth of programs and classes year-round for members, families, adult learners, school groups and community organizations.
Family Programs
The Aquarium offers programs and activities especially for families. You can take advantage of many of them during your visit, including our Little Fishes program, Family Explorers classes , family overnights and family field trips.
Members-Only Programs
The Aquarium has special events and programs exclusively for members. Many other programs are offered to members at a discount.
Meet the Animals
The Aquarium has many opportunities to meet our animals during a visit or through additional programs. Whether you want to be a trainer for a day, play with the seals or volunteer behind-the-scenes, you can see and experience the animals up close.
Summer Programs
We offer a number of programs during the summer, including Harbor Discoveries camp, summer teen internships, family field trips and, from April to October, Whale Watch.
Teen Programs
The Teens Programs office at the Aquarium is the place for 13- to 19-year-olds who want to get involved. We offer a variety of volunteer and paid opportunities.
Overnight Visits
Aquarium overnights are a great way for kids and adults to immerse themselves in the Aquarium after hours. We host group overnights throughout the school year for school, community and scouting groups. We also offer a family overnight once a year.
Community Outreach
Our off-site programs reach thousands of people at schools, hospitals, community centers and promotional events every year.
Aquarium Lecture Series
The New England Aquarium presents this series with the generous support of the Lowell Institute. The Aquarium Lecture Series is free and open to the public.
