Our overnights are a great way for kids and adults to immerse themselves in the Aquarium experience. We host:

  • Group overnights throughout the school year for scouting troops, school groups, community groups and scouting groups.
  • Family overnights once a year; this year's date is November 8.

A minimum of 30 and maximum of 80 participants is required to run an overnight. All attendees must be at least 6 years old. If your group is small, we will make every effort to combine groups to have a headcount of at least 30.

Overnights cost $50 per person ($45 for Aquarium members). The cost includes one free 24-hour parking pass for the Harbor Garage per every four people in each group; please review the pricing and payment details for more information.

Overnights include

  • Science experiments and squid dissections in our Harborside Learning Lab (see the schedule for the night for details)
  • The chance to sleep in the Amazing Jellies exhibit
  • Exploring the Aquarium before it opens to the public the next morning
  • An evening snack and breakfast
  • NEW! Kids receive a 2008 New England Aquarium Overnight patch they can wear to get into the Aquarium free of charge any day in 2008 (excluding visits with their school as a group).
  • NEW! Every participant receives one Simons IMAX Theatre ticket good up for up to one year from the date of the overnight. These passes are not valid on special presentations.

For more information on activities, timing, food and more, see our timeline for the night. Find out more about the program by reading our frequently asked questions.

Our animals’ diets are very carefully monitored by our staff, and as a result, we cannot offer visitors an opportunity to feed them. But there are other opportunities for interactions with animals and staff, including Behind-the-Scenes Tours, presentations and shows, Trainer for the Afternoon and our Play with the Seals program.
