In order to attend Harbor Discoveries Camp, Senior and Advanced participants must provide a Red Cross Level 4 swim certificate or equivalent. Competency requires that campers are able to swim 75 yards and tread water unassisted for two minutes. Proof of competency must be on file in the camp office prior to the start of a participant’s camp session.

Proof of swim competency may be presented as:

  • Red Cross swim card
  • YMCA swim card
  • Document on letterhead from a Boys and Girls Club signed by lifeguard.*
  • Document on letterhead from a local recreation center signed by a lifeguard.*

*The lifeguard's signed statement must include name, address and contact information for the lifeguard who administered the test and a copy of the lifeguard’s certification.
