The live blue™ Ambassador program is a service learning program for teens ages 14 to 18 who are interested in serving the Aquarium's mission beyond the walls of the Aquarium. Participants will take part in different types of service-learning opportunities, which may include habitat clean-up and restoration, public education and outreach, and citizen science.

There is no fee for the program and, in most cases, transportation to a work site is provided by the New England Aquarium. Participants will earn community service credits or service hours for their successful participation in the program. These community service credits, which are also known as volunteer or service credits, are needed to meet most high school graduation requirements. Participants are not recognized as Aquarium volunteers.

To sign up for our mailing list and be included in invitations to future live blue™ Ambassador events, participants must first complete this sign-up form.

Once the online intake survey is completed, interested participants will automatically be sent all future emails regarding live blue™ Ambassador events. When a new event is scheduled, a notification email is sent out that includes a brief description of that event in addition to a link for that particular event’s sign-up sheet. Please note: The intake form above is not a sign-up for any specific event.

Each event will have a different limit on how many individuals can participate, and slots will be filled in the order in which the surveys are submitted. If you are unavailable or do not get a chance to participate in the next event, you will still receive notifications for new events and you do not need to fill out the intake form again.
