Each year, we are pleased to offer free admission to children from schools that meet the criteria for financial need, which is determined by the percentage of students in the school who are eligible for the free federal or reduced lunch program.

Feedback from teachers encouraged us to restructure the free admission program for this school year. To enhance the educational component of your visit, you or a representative from your school should plan to attend a free two-hour field trip preparation workshop offered by the Aquarium’s Teacher Resource Center. The workshop includes a tour of the TRC and a curriculum-based guided tour of Aquarium exhibits. Workshop participants will receive several standards-based educational activities to use before, during or after the field trip. (If you have attended a field trip prep workshop since January 2007, you are exempt from this prerequisite for the 2008-2009 school year.)

How to Apply

The application for the 2008/2009 school year has closed. We will begin the process of accepting applications for the 2009/2010 school year in May, 2009. Please check back then or call the Teacher Resource Center (617) 973-6590 for other questions.

Deadlines

Once you are accepted, you must follow the instructions in the step-by-step field trip guide to make a reservation for your visit. All school visits must be scheduled to occur between September 15, 2008 and February 27, 2009.
