Each year Aquarium teams travel the globe exploring and studying different aquatic locations. In the Bahamas, this includes working with authorities to responsibly collect fish for our Atlantic coral reef exhibits and aid in conservation efforts.

Join Aquarium divers on a tropical expedition to discover a beautiful part of our blue planet.

Take a break and join Aquarium divers on an expedition to the Bahamas. You will help to responsibly collect colorful reef fishes and invertebrates for the Giant Ocean Tank and other tropical exhibits. You will also help the Aquarium with conservation projects in the mangrove forests or seagrass meadows in Bimini and join our team of citizen scientists. This unusual “working” vacation is open to certified divers of all levels, ages 18 and older. During this week-long adventure, you will explore beautiful underwater sites throughout the Bimini area in the Bahamas. The last day of the trip is spent in Miami preparing specimens for shipment to the New England Aquarium. Trips are open to Aquarium members 18 and older who are certified divers. This is one of the most exciting benefits of becoming an Aquarium member.
