The New England Aquarium’s Conservation Department aims to integrate scientific information, public outreach and policy initiatives to effect lasting change in the ocean environment. This position will mainly be in support of the Phoenix Islands Protected Area initiative. This is an excellent opportunity for applicants interested in gaining experience in a conservation non-profit setting.
Responsibilities: Support in organizing files and miscellaneous inventory. Cleaning, scanning, and organizing photographic images from slides to digital files. Research and sort photographs for the photo database. Support development of web-based and printed collateral materials. Edit and proof read reports developed internally. Various other office-related tasks, as assigned.
Qualifications: Must have an interest in marine conservation issues and marine protected areas. Strong organizational and communication skills are required. Highly computer literate, including familiarity with Microsoft programs, including Excel and PowerPoint, and internet-based research skills. Professionalism and comfort working independently in an office environment are required.
