The New England Aquarium is a global leader in ocean exploration and marine conservation, and is the only Boston-based cultural institution with a mission focused primarily on the environment. Why run for the New England Aquarium
Our hands-on, interactive traveling exhibits reach 45,000 children in diverse communities every year. Funds raised through the Aquarium’s marathon team will be used to support these outreach programs, inspiring respect and fascination for marine life among children and families from the region's most underserved neighborhoods through engaging activities with educators, interactive tidepools and free admission to the New England Aquarium.
The Aquarium offers children what is often their first experience with marine animals, incorporating conservation messages to help area youth understand the importance of nature, why they need to help protect the oceans and the simple things they can do to make a difference. The programs also encourage young people to get out and be active in the natural world.
About the Boston Marathon®
The 119th Boston Marathon® will be held on Monday, April 20, 2015. One of the world's most prestigious foot races, the Boston Marathon threads its way through Massachusetts from Hopkinton toward Copley Square in Boston. Committing to run for the New England Aquarium is not only a personal challenge to complete the 26.2-mile course, it is a committment to educate the next generation of ocean stewards.

If you have secured your own 119th Boston Marathon entry and are interested in joining the New England Aquarium Marathon team, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. We ask that all runners who have secured their own entry to the Boston Marathon commit to raising a minimum of $1000.
