On Tuesday, March 27, we were excited to screen for our Giving Society and Aquarium members the new film Pandas 3D! The screening began in the fully packed Simons IMAX® Theatre with an introduction by Aquarium interim President and CEO Donna Hazard. Following the screening, the audience heard from director Drew Fellman, producer Jacob Owens, and New Hampshire naturalist and “bear whisperer” Ben Kilham, who is featured in the film.

Here’s a little bit about the film:

Narrated by Kristen Bell, this heartwarming story of survival puts you among the fluffy black-and-white cubs as they feed and play at China’s Chengdu Panda Base. Inspired by black bear rehabilitation work in New Hampshire, a team of scientists from the U.S. and China collaborate on an innovative project to release captive-born pandas into the wild and save this vulnerable species. Stunning IMAX footage captures each charming challenge and success of one young cub during her life-changing journey into the misty mountains of Sichuan.

Thanks to everyone who joined us. Pandas 3D will be playing on a regular schedule beginning April 6. Members are strongly reminded to use your free IMAX passes and discount to see this or any of the great films now showing at the Aquarium.
