Aquarium visitors will notice exciting changes happening this fall and winter. Work is being done on the harbor side of the Aquarium to make us an even more inviting place for visitors to come and see the animals. One of the many things visitors have to look forward to after the construction is the opening of the New Balance Foundation Marine Mammal Center on the Harbor Terrace. In the meantime, here are some things to keep in mind about construction at the Aquarium.

No Construction in the Main Building

The front and back of the Aquarium may be bustling with activity, but the inside is construction-free and ready for you to come visit all your favorite animals. There are no obstructions in the main building. Visitors have their run of the exhibit space from the bottom floor of the Amazing Jellies exhibit to the top of the Giant Ocean Tank.

Outside Areas Closed During Construction

For safety reasons, the following areas are closed during construction:

  • The harbor walk around the back of the Aquarium
  • Portions of the front plaza, where construction equipment is being stored
