Martin Scorsese’s concert documentary Shine a Light shows the world the Rolling Stones as they’ve never been seen before. Mick Jagger recalls the early planning for this project. "We had this stunning meeting in my hotel room, " says Jagger. "We talked about ... shooting in IMAX, because it was such a big event."
In fall 2006, Scorsese assembled a legendary team of cinematographers to capture the raw energy of the iconic rock band. He found that the Beacon Theatre in New York City was the perfect setting, big enough to provide enough room for the cameras and lights and dolly tracks but small enough to capture the Stones' ineffable chemistry up close. Come see the finished masterpiece at the New England Aquarium’s Simons IMAX Theatre, which has the largest screen in New England and 12,000 watts of digital surround sound streaming from 44 speakers.
Shine a Light is rated PG-13 for brief strong language, drug references and smoking.
