June 20, 2009 Afternoon Trip

On our afternoon trip we got some great looks at a mother and her calf! The calf gave us some nice close looks, and their were several other whales all around us, that other boats were watching, all in all there was probably about 10 different whales just in our general area! Unfortunately mom didn't fluke up for us so I wasn't able to know who she was. At the end of our trip though one of the whales that had been with one of the other boats and a different mother and calf pair joined ours, and we got to see who it was, Tornado! Tornado is a female who had a calf last year, and seemed to be making the rounds of the new mom's today!
