Chapter 4: Munchkin’s Release!

After several months of rehabilitation in the New England Aquarium’s Sea Turtle Hospital, Munchkin is finally healthy enough to be released back into the wild! On July 2nd, veterinarians and volunteers worked together to place a satellite tag on the massive loggerhead sea turtle and quickly deliver her to a beach in Cape Cod for her release. The beach was brimming with Munchkin’s fans who enthusiastically cheered her on as she crawled down the beach and disappeared into the ocean.
