From the President
with Scott Kraus
During monthly Harborside Chats, New England Aquarium President and CEO Vikki Spruill takes to Facebook Live for a casual conversation with a member of our team.
For her third livestream event, Vikki sat down with Anderson Cabot Center for Ocean Life VP and Senior Scientist Scott Kraus, Ph.D.
These conversations highlight the work of our staff and scientists, tapping into their areas of expertise to better understand current issues and learn how their work reinforces the Aquarium’s mission to protect the blue planet. Vikki’s conversation with Scott focused on offshore oil and gas exploration in the Atlantic, a proposal that the Aquarium staunchly opposes. For decades, Scott has studied the endangered North Atlantic right whale and understands the dire threat that seismic testing poses to right whales and marine animals all the way down the food chain.
Listen in to Vikki and Scott’s conversation for a deep dive on this issue.
