The lookdown is one of many jacks in the Giant Ocean Tank.

What makes this school of lookdowns unique is that they are offspring of adult lookdowns from the G.O.T.!

They were born and raised in Quincy at our Animal Care Center. This school of about 100 fish has learned quickly how to survive in the GOT, namely learning that divers = food.

Here, I am feeding them a specially made aquatic blend pellet for carnivorous fish from a squirt bottle (which we also use for feeding krill, peas and corn, capelin roe, etc.). When they get a little bigger, we’ll begin feeding them whole fish like silversides. Lunchtime!
