The Year in Review
2016 has been quite a year for the New England Aquarium. Our Tentacles Take Hold program has captured the imagination of thousands of visitors with amazing facts about octopuses, cuttlefish, jellies, and nautilus. You may have seen some of those animals around town in our colorful ads! We also launched a new website, which makes it easier than ever for visitors to access handy information for planning their visit or learn more about the animals on our blogs and check educational opportunities at the Aquarium. We even made waves beyond Central Wharf. Here’s a look at some of the major events from the past year:
- The New England Aquarium launched the Anderson Cabot Center for Ocean Life
- President Obama designates Northeast Coral Canyons and Seamounts a national monument
- The Olympic Coast exhibit debuted with its brand new giant Pacific octopus
