Public concert at Hatch Shell on Esplanade

Landmarks Orchestra Performance

Wednesday, August 15

Enjoy a summer concert at the Hatch Shell on the Esplanade in Boston. This artful collaboration between the New England Aquarium and the Boston Landmarks Orchestra with Conductor Christopher Wilkins will feature animal song and video representations of sea life woven together with classical favorites, as well as a special introduction by the Aquarium’s new President and CEO, Vikki Spruill. A highlight of the evening will be the world premier of “Oceana” by Stella Sung. The composition reflects the individual and collective efforts of Sung, Wilkins, and Dr. Scott Kraus, VP and Senior Science Advisor, Anderson Cabot Center for Ocean Life at the New England Aquarium.

In addition, Aquarium educators will introduce visitors to some familiar tidepool animals at a table set up for the occasion.

So, come enjoy this free concert and show your Aquarium pride with marine-themed hats, T-shirts, blankets, and even those awesome shark-shaped slippers we know you have!
