The Aquarium’s Teacher Resource Center specializes in linking our areas of expertise with your curriculum objectives to create PDP-certified, custom-designed in-service training.

We collaborate with schools as well as school districts to design and implement one- or multi-day sessions. The TRC can also create professional development opportunities linking teachers directly with research scientists to cover topics such as marine mammal conservation or bycatch. Please contact the Teacher Resource Center at or call 617-973-6590 and let us know how we can help you. We welcome new visitors and can work with you to seek funding.

PDP Certification

The Aquarium is a registered Massachusetts Professional Development Provider. PDP certificates are provided for all programs of more than 10 hours. Certificates of completion are available for shorter programs. Institute-length programs may include graduate credits by special arrangement.

Our long-term school partners have included the Boston and Salem public school districts. In addition, we have tailored professional development programs for LaSalle College, College of the Atlantic, Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, the Quincy Public Schools, Minuteman Regional High School, Steeple Pre-School, Lawrence School, Kennedy School, METCO Lexington, and many others.
