Sounds of the Sea
Summer Concert on the Esplanade with Boston Landmarks Orchestra
August 15, 2018
7 p.m., DCR Hatch Shell, Boston

Pack a picnic and a blanket and enjoy an artful collaboration between the New England Aquarium and the Boston Landmarks Orchestra with Conductor Christopher Wilkins. The evening will feature animal song and video representations of sea life woven together with classical favorites, as well as a special introduction by the Aquarium’s new President and CEO, Vikki Spruill. A highlight of the evening will be the world premier of “Oceana” by Stella Sung. The composition reflects the individual and collective efforts of Sung, Wilkins, and Dr. Scott Kraus, VP and Senior Science Advisor, Anderson Cabot Center for Ocean Life at the New England Aquarium.

In addition, Aquarium educators will introduce visitors to some familiar tidepool animals at a table set up for the occasion.

So, come enjoy this free concert and show your Aquarium pride with marine-themed hats, T-shirts, blankets, and even those awesome shark-shaped slippers we know you have!

The rain date is Thursday, August 16. If it rains on August 16 as well, the concert will be held at Emmanuel Church, 15 Newbury St., Boston.
