About

Danielle Dillon is an associate scientist/lab manager for the Wildlife and Ocean Health hormone lab at the New England Aquarium. Danielle joined the team in 2023 after working in labs at the University of Alaska Anchorage and Northern Arizona University, specializing in extracting hormones from unique and diverse sample types — including whale baleen, feathers, shed skin, echidna spines, walrus and seal whiskers, and even human bones! Her work at the Aquarium focuses on using lab techniques to monitor and better understand the health of aquatic species.
