About

David Lockwood is a research technician with the Right Whale Research Program where he analyzes sightings data, alongside photo-identification, coding, and behavioral analysis for the North Atlantic Right Whale Catalog. Before joining the team at the New England Aquarium, David first gained experience in data collection as a NMFS Fisheries Observer and as a protected species observer. Most recently, he spent several seasons as a right whale aerial observer in the Southeastern U.S. and as a naturalist on the New England Aquarium Whale Watch in Boston.
