About

Kara Mahoney Robinson is an Assistant Scientist with the Kraus Marine Mammal Conservation Program. She is the administrator for the North Atlantic Right Whale Consortium (NARWC); organizing the logistics for the Annual NARWC and Ropeless Consortium meetings and processing incoming NARWC data access requests. She also assists in maintaining the Right Whale Photo-Identification Catalog, evaluating anthropogenic (human-caused) impacts on right whales, and is passionate about sharing the right whale story with the greater Aquarium community.

She was formerly part of the Aquarium’s Education Department as part of the Student Programs team for almost 18 years. During that time, she also worked with the right whale team on a seasonal basis doing aerial surveys on the Right Whale calving grounds and assisting with surveys in the Bay of Fundy and Roseway Basin.
