About

Megan Ryder is an associate research scientist for the EcoMap program at the Anderson Cabot Center for Ocean Life. In 2018, she completed her undergraduate degree in Marine Biology and Coastal Ecology at the University of Plymouth. Following this, she undertook an MSc in Marine Mammal Science at the University of St Andrews, with an emphasis on differentiating foraging activity in harbor porpoise using Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM). Prior to joining the EcoMap team, she worked for the Sea Mammal Research Unit Consulting (SMRUC) in Scotland. In this role she focused on collaborative strategic research to develop our understanding of marine mammal ecology, and on evaluating the impacts of anthropogenic activity on marine mammals in the UK and further afield.
