Girija Ramapriya serves as the Operations Manager for Flagship Ocean Initiatives at the New England Aquarium stewarding the day-to-day activities of the division and programs, as well as assisting Sarah Reiter, AVP of Flagship Ocean Initiatives, to advance major institutional initiatives for large-scale, cross-sector conservation impact.

Girija is a versatile innovation professional with practical experience in applying technology and entrepreneurship within mission-driven organizations, focusing on people and product development. Her expertise lies in the intersection of social sciences and technology and brings a skillset that encompasses a global perspective with a local focus on innovation implementation. Her work at the Aquarium has included applying economic- and innovation- focused lenses on the blue economy, as well as supporting emerging technologies like AI and cellular agriculture to find a market within Aquarium operations.

Girija has an MSc. from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and earned her B.S. from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
