About

Amy Warren focuses on right whale research at the Anderson Cabot Center for Ocean Life. As operational lead for data processing of the Right Whale Photo-identification Catalog, she is responsible for quality control, training, incorporating new whales, and other catalog maintenance. Also, as a core member of the field team, participating in vessel-based right whale surveys, Amy holds a USCG Captain’s License and is a FAA licensed UAS (drone) pilot. Before joining the New England Aquarium team in October 2019, her work included nearly a decade of summers as a naturalist aboard commercial whale watching vessels in New England, and winters as a Right Whale Aerial Observer in the Southeast United States.
