Car Parking

The Aquarium does not own or operate any garages, and all parking rates shown are subject to change without notice. Some parking tips:

  1. The Harbor Garage

    This is the parking option closest to the Aquarium. Discounted validated rates are available only for Aquarium members, Whale Watch visitors, and IMAX patrons after 4:30 p.m. Less expensive parking is available in the area, especially on weekends and holidays. Validation is good for up to 8 hours during the day and up to 4 hours with an IMAX ticket. Validation is given ONLY at the Aquarium Membership Desk or IMAX Theatre.

  2. Park and Take the T into Boston

    Inexpensive parking is available at major MBTA stations around Boston. The Aquarium is located at the Aquarium stop on the MBTA Blue Line. It's a cost-effective option—and it's better for the environment!

  3. Oversize and Handicap Vehicles

    Several area garages have high clearances that can accommodate oversize vehicles. The Aquarium has arrangements with 75 State Street (6-foot, 9-inch clearance) and the Garage at Post Office Square (7-foot, 6-inch clearance). Other area garages with high clearances are 641 Lewis Wharf (open-air), 225 Franklin Street (9-foot, 7-inch clearance) and the Intercontinental Hotel (7-foot, 10-inch clearance).

The Aquarium does not own any parking facilities. Click on the map above and links below for directions and more details about each garage. Parking coupons and stamps for eligible visitors are available at the Information Desk on the first level of the Aquarium.

    Validation for Members Only:
    $30 for up to 8 hours every day.

    Simons IMAX Theatre Only:
    Weekdays after 4:30 p.m., with IMAX ticket: $10 (up to 4 hours, evening IMAX rate does not apply to special events), weekends $10 (only after 4:30 p.m., with IMAX ticket, up to 4 hours, evening IMAX rate does not apply to special events).

    Whale Watch:
    Weekdays $28 (up to 8 hours), weekends $28 (up to 8 hours).

    Validation available for Whale Watch patrons who take a ticket only. Do not pre-pay with credit card upon entering the garage.
