New England Aquarium to present cult classic shark films during annual Shark Week

Shark-themed favorites playing on the Simons Theatre giant screen July 24-26

WHAT: As Shark Week approaches, the New England Aquarium will be screening shark-themed films on the giant screen of the Simons Theatre for three nights only. From July 24–26, 2025, moviegoers can enjoy cult classics as they’ve never seen them before, on one of the largest movie screens in New England. Tickets are $10 each. Themed concessions will be available for purchase, including specialty cocktails.

WHEN:

  • July 24 – Sharknado – A freak storm brings hundreds of vicious, man-eating sharks ashore in Los Angeles, and a group of friends struggle to steer clear of their violent and destructive path. Tickets available here.
  • July 25 – The Meg – A deep-sea rescue diver must confront a massive prehistoric shark to save a trapped crew and stop the creature from threatening the ocean. Tickets available here.
  • July 26 – Deep Blue Sea – Genetically modified sharks turn on their creators at an underwater research facility, forcing the scientists to fight for survival and prevent the deadly predators from escaping. Tickets available here.

WHERE: Simons Theatre at the New England Aquarium, 1 Central Wharf, Boston, MA

Pair a film with a visit to the Aquarium, grab a bite to eat and drinks at Dockside Beer Garden, and make a date night or an evening with friends to remember. With cocktails, snacks, lawn games, and a stunning backdrop along Boston Harbor, Dockside offers outdoor dining on Central Wharf, operating daily from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
