About
Priya is an aerial observer in the EcoMAP department. She participates in surveys of wind energy development areas, Gulf of Maine basins, and the Northeast Canyons and Seamounts Marine National Monument. Priya previously worked as a North Atlantic Right Whale Aerial Observer for the 2025–2026 field with Clearwater Marine Aquarium Research Institute. She was first introduced to cetacean work through her position as a research assistant in the Water Quality Department at the Center for Coastal Studies in Provincetown, MA. She volunteers with multiple local organizations, including as a marine mammal responder for the International Fund for Animal Welfare and a Docent for Dolphin Fleet Whale Watch.
Priya holds a Master’s degree in Ecosystem Science and Management and Environmental Justice from the University of Michigan.
