About
As the Environmental Quality Director at New England Aquarium, Nina Fischer oversees the aquarium’s environmental monitoring program. She works closely with Animal Care and Campus Operations staff to ensure we provide the best environment possible for our animals since good water quality is essential for the health and wellbeing of aquatic organisms. This includes monitoring of about 180 individual systems, intake and discharge water, providing direction for managing life support systems and administering our discharge permits.
She serves as the chemical hygiene officer and on the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee.
